Odesa paralyzed by heavy rains: what is happening in the city
The situation in Odesa due to the rains and winds is becoming increasingly tense, according to the local authorities. The ground is saturated with moisture, which could lead to falling trees and branches under their weight.
Utility services are operating in an enhanced mode, draining water from storm drains and cleaning them. For the successful completion of these works, it is important to have accessible roads.
The Odesa City Council urges residents to refrain from traveling without urgent need, especially by car, particularly in the morning. Institutions and businesses are recommended to organize remote work for their staff. Schools have switched to remote learning, and kindergartens are operating in a reduced mode.
In addition, rescuers from the State Emergency Service have taken on the task of eliminating the consequences of the bad weather in the city. Repair works in the region continue due to expected new precipitation. Searches are also ongoing for a 23-year-old girl who went missing due to the disaster.
