Ukraine's Top Athletes and Coaches of March 2024 Honored by National Olympic Committee

According to Главком: The National Olympic Committee of Ukraine has announced its selections for the top athletes and coaches of March 2024. The month's best athlete title went to track and field star Oleh Doroshchuk, who secured the world indoor championship in the high jump by clearing 2.30 meters at the World Athletics Indoor Championships in Toruń, Poland. The top youth athlete honor was awarded to skeleton racer Yaroslav Lavreniuk, a junior world champion in both the U20 and U23 categories. Lavreniuk, who turned 18 at the time of the award, earned his title at the Junior World Skeleton Championships in Altenberg, Germany.
The NOC also recognized the month's leading coaches. Hennadiy Zditovetskyi, the coach of Oleh Doroshchuk, was honored for his role in the athlete's preparation. The best youth coach award went to Serhiy Lavreniuk, who is both the coach and father of Yaroslav Lavreniuk. During its expert commission meeting, the NOC also reviewed the Ukrainian team's results from the 2026 Winter Olympic Games. While the athletes did not secure any medals, they achieved eight top-ten finishes. The most notable performances included:
- Sixth place in the luge team relay: Angelina Brykina, Oleksandr Okipniuk, Dmytro Kotovskyi, Yulianna Tunytska, Ihor Hoi, Nazarii Kachmar, Andrii Mandzii, Oleksandra Moh, and Olena Stetskiv.
- Seventh place in women's doubles luge: Oleksandra Moh and Olena Stetskiv.
- Eighth place in the biathlon mixed relay: Dmytro Pidruchnyi, Vitalii Mandzyn, Olena Horodna, and Oleksandra Merkushina.
- Ninth place in the biathlon relay: Oleksandra Merkushina, Yuliia Dzhima, Khrystyna Dmytrenko, and Darina Chalyk.
- Tenth place finishes: Kateryna Kotsar in big air skiing, Oleksandr Okipniuk in ski aerials, and Vitalii Mandzyn in the biathlon mass start.
