Kyiv Announces Road Closures for Infrastructure Repairs
Temporary Traffic Restrictions in Kyiv
According to Главком: Kyiv will implement temporary traffic restrictions on several streets due to scheduled repair and reconstruction work. These projects are part of ongoing efforts to modernize the city's road network. From 10:00 PM on April 14 until 6:00 AM on April 15, traffic will be restricted on Khreshchatyk Street in the Shevchenkivskyi district. The work will focus on the intersection of Khreshchatyk Street and Taras Shevchenko Boulevard, where crews will mill and repave the roadway.
Additional Restrictions
Furthermore, partial traffic restrictions will remain in effect until April 30 on the overpass connecting Novokostiantynivska Street, Oleny Telihy Street, and Stepan Bandera Avenue. One lane in each direction on this overpass will be closed. Another traffic restriction will be active on Brovarskiy Avenue until May 15. Work here is being conducted as part of the reconstruction of the overpass at its intersection with Budivelnykiv Street.
The repair zone on Brovarskiy Avenue extends from the McDonald's restaurant (Brovarskiy Avenue, 27) to Heorhiya Narbuta Avenue. The upcoming large-scale reconstruction at the intersection of Khreshchatyk and Taras Shevchenko Boulevard is expected to significantly improve this critical transport hub. Notably, the site of this future reconstruction was home to the main Soviet-era monument in the capital for over a decade.
These repairs are a component of a broader Kyiv infrastructure improvement program aimed at modernizing transport routes and enhancing safety. The restrictions may impact daily traffic flow, so drivers are advised to plan their routes in advance to avoid congestion. It is important to pay close attention to all road signs and directions posted in the work zones.
As the city continues its infrastructure upgrades, traffic updates on Kyiv's Teligy Bridge provide further insight into the ongoing roadworks. These developments not only aim to enhance traffic flow but also address critical safety concerns across the capital's transport network.
