Poll: Corruption and Rising Prices – The Main Problems for Ukrainians
Main Socio-Economic Problems According to the Survey
According to hvylya.net: According to the research from 'First Rating System', commissioned by American Political Services, the main problems that most concern Ukrainians are corruption (42.7%) and rising prices for food (39.1%).
Among other important issues, citizens listed high utility tariffs (32.8%) and the consequences of military actions (29.4%). Also, low wages, small pensions, and social benefits worry 26.4% and 26.3% of respondents, respectively.
Other Issues That Worry Ukrainians:
- mobilization of loved ones (22.4%);
- low level of defense capability (13.8%);
- inaccessibility of medical services and medicines (11.3%);
Regarding the direction of the country's development, only 7.6% of Ukrainians believe that the country is definitely moving in the right direction, while another 27.3% chose the option 'rather in the right direction'. Among the youth, optimists are more – 36%.
28.5% of respondents believe that the country's development is 'rather moving in the wrong direction', while 26.2% say 'definitely wrong'.
The conducted survey highlights the main socio-economic problems that concern citizens of Ukraine, as well as the general opinion regarding the direction of the country's development. The negative attitude towards corruption, rising prices for food, high utility tariffs, and other aspects indicates the importance of addressing these issues in society.
