Recipients of housing subsidies are required to inform the Pension Fund of Ukraine (PFU) about the departure of family members abroad and other changes that may affect the payment assignment. This new requirement stipulates that notification must be provided within 30 days from the moment a household member leaves. The obligation arises if a household member stays abroad for more than 60 days.

In case of receiving such notification, the person who has left will not be included in the household for subsidy calculation purposes. If it turns out that a household member is abroad while receiving the subsidy, the subsidy payment will be terminated. This means that subsidy recipients must be particularly attentive to changes in their household composition.

Changes in social status and rights to subsidy

Moreover, subsidy recipients must inform the PFU about changes in social status, the list of received utility services, as well as the acquisition of real estate or vehicles. Housing subsidies are granted to families whose utility expenses exceed the mandatory payment. The right to subsidy is determined taking into account property status. The subsidy payment may also be terminated if there is a debt for utility services that exceeds three months. Thus, it is important for subsidy recipients to comply with the new requirements to avoid payment issues.
