Hellish Heat in Spain: Death Toll Reaches Record High

Record number of deaths in Spain
Пекуча спека в Іспанії: Кількість загиблих досягає рекордних значень.

The weather in Spain has played a cruel joke on the country's residents. Over the last three months, more than 1000 people have died due to the heat, reports the Ministry of Health. The Carlos III Health Institute registers a record number of deaths this year due to high temperatures.

The number of heat-related deaths in Spain has increased by 47% compared to the previous month, with the elderly being particularly affected. The regions of Galicia, La Rioja, Asturias, and Cantabria have been the most vulnerable due to the sudden spike in temperatures.

It should be noted that in June, Spain recorded a maximum temperature of 46 degrees, exceeding the previous record set back in 1965. Greece has also taken measures due to high temperatures.

Research shows that climate change has tripled the number of heat-related deaths in Europe. Only in twelve major cities, 2300 deaths were recorded, of which 1500 can be linked to the climate crisis.

Spain is experiencing a sharp rise in deaths due to high temperatures, indicating that the heat is becoming increasingly dangerous for the population. Climate change and heat are already having serious consequences, and countries must seek effective measures to adapt to new realities.
