Kyslytsia revealed details of negotiations with the Russian Federation: how Russia simulated progress
According to hvylya.net: Serhiy Kyslytsia, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, revealed the details of the peace negotiations with the Russian delegation. The meetings in Istanbul turned into a real farce: the Russians avoided discussing ways to peace and even suggested creating WhatsApp groups to simulate progress.
The Russian side arrived prepared, with dossiers on each Ukrainian delegate. The main negotiator, Vladimir Medinsky, opened the negotiations with a distorted lecture on history, refusing to acknowledge Ukrainian identity.
During the negotiations, the Russians ignored the essence of the issues, suggesting the creation of WhatsApp groups and refusing to consider any truce. Kyslytsia explained how Ukraine influenced the imposition of sanctions against the Russian oil industry.
Kyslytsia noted: 'Putin manipulates, his only desire is to buy time, he is not interested in a real deal.'
The diplomat revealed Putin's manipulations before the Trump administration and supported the imposition of sanctions. After unsuccessful negotiations, it is currently important to influence international partners for joint actions.
Kyslytsia emphasized that it is impossible to have honest discussions under a dictatorship, as negotiation teams operate under strict mandates. However, it is important to engage directly with the dictator, DW reports.
