On Wednesday, November 5, the Verkhovna Rada adopted a law to increase child birth assistance in Ukraine to 50 thousand hryvnias. This news was reported by the parliament's press service and in Telegram by MP Danilo Hetmantsev.

This initiative is aimed at supporting families during pregnancy, after childbirth, and in the early stages of raising a child, and also aims to improve the demographic situation and allow parents to combine family life with a career.

Draft law No. 13532 envisages the commencement of increased payments from January 1, 2026.

In particular, among the innovations:

  • Women without health insurance will receive 7 thousand hryvnias in assistance during pregnancy and childbirth.
  • The one-time payment after childbirth will be 50 thousand hryvnias.
  • Parents will have the option to choose between the 'Baby Package' or a cash compensation.
  • Monthly assistance for infant care will amount to 7 thousand hryvnias.
  • The launch of the 'eYasla' program for children aged 2 to 3 years is planned.
  • There will also be assistance for families raising children with disabilities.
  • From 2028, the 'eSadok' program for children aged 4 to 6 years will start operating.
  • There will also be a one-time assistance of 5 thousand hryvnias for first-graders.

The increase in childbirth assistance to 50 thousand hryvnias, adopted by the Verkhovna Rada, will contribute to improving the living conditions of families, supporting the demographic situation, and developing social programs for children at various age stages.
