Poland for the first time in 25 years: more workers are returning than leaving

The number of returning Poles exceeds the number of those leaving
Польща відзначає новий етап: зростає кількість співвітчизників, які повертаються додому.

Poles are increasingly leaving Germany and returning home. In recent years, there has been a case where more Polish citizens have left Germany than those arriving there. This situation has been recorded for the first time since 2008.

In 2024, about 95 thousand Poles left Germany, while only 84 thousand arrived. Experts explain this by the improvement of economic conditions in Poland, making the domestic labor market more attractive to citizens. Additionally, the Polish government is actively working to create a favorable business environment and provides various tax incentives and support programs for those who return.

'Even with lower wages in Poland, citizens can access higher quality services: access to medical care, sports, and recreation. Most importantly, renting or purchasing decent housing, which is currently practically impossible in Germany,' specialists comment.

Experts believe that Poland's example shows that the return of migrants is possible given the right conditions. This is an important lesson for other countries, where the return of labor migrants may become a crucial step in economic recovery.

Poles leave Germany and return to Poland in search of better working and living conditions. The improvement of economic conditions in Poland and effective government measures contribute to this process and may also serve as an example for other countries.
