Increase of Minimum Wage in Poland

Poland has announced an increase in the minimum wage starting from January 1, 2026, which will affect about 3 million workers. This decision aims to improve the economic situation of those receiving the lowest incomes.

According to the new rules, the minimum salary (gross) will increase from 4,666 zlotys to 4,806 zlotys. As a result, the minimum salary 'net' will amount to 3,605.85 zlotys. This increase also applies to the minimum hourly rate for employees on a contract of mandate, which will rise to 31.40 zlotys per hour.

Impact of the Increase on Youth and the Economy

Students and young people under 26 will have the opportunity to earn up to 4,806 zlotys net thanks to the PIT-0 relief. This income increase will affect a significant number of workers in Poland, providing them with better living conditions and financial stability.

The increase in the minimum wage in Poland reflects the government's efforts to improve the well-being of the population, especially the most vulnerable groups.

This decision may also stimulate domestic demand and economic growth in the context of ongoing inflation and rising prices for essential goods and services. However, it is important to monitor possible consequences for businesses, especially small and medium enterprises, which may face additional labor cost burdens.
