The Polish Sejm rejected the criminal article on banderism: what does it mean
The lower house of the Polish parliament rejected a bill that proposed criminal penalties for the promotion of 'banderist ideology'. This was reported by RMF24 citing 'Wave'.
In September, the Sejm adopted an updated version of the law on social assistance for Ukrainian refugees, which was introduced by President Karol Nawrocki. However, later it rejected his amendments, as most of them had already been included in the previously approved law.
The document was submitted to the Sejm by Nawrocki after he vetoed a government initiative regarding social payments to Ukrainian refugees in August.
However, some of the rejected norms of the bill concerned other issues unrelated to social support for Ukrainians. In particular, proposals were considered to impose criminal prosecution for spreading ideas related to the activities of the Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists and the Ukrainian Insurgent Army.
