Drone Strike Sparks Second Fire in June at Poltavskaya Oil Depot in Russia's Krasnodar Region
Fire Erupts at Poltavskaya Oil Depot After Drone Attack
According to Главком: A fire broke out at an oil depot in the stanitsa of Poltavskaya, located in Russia's Krasnodar Krai, following a drone strike. Three storage tanks are currently burning at the facility, which is owned by the joint-stock company Poltavskaya Oil Depot. This marks the second attack on this depot in June.
The depot serves as a hub for receiving petroleum products and supplying them to gas stations and consumers across Krasnodar Krai and the Republic of Adygea. It holds 28 tanks with a total capacity of approximately 15,000 cubic meters. The site lies roughly 80 kilometers from Krasnodar city and about 385 kilometers from the front lines of active combat. Beyond fueling Krasnodar Krai and Adygea, the depot also supplies its own network of 34 conventional and nine multi-fuel filling stations operating under the PNB brand. The product range includes:
- AI-92 gasoline
- AI-95 gasoline
- diesel fuel
- aviation kerosene
- fuel oil
- liquefied gas
Oil Infrastructure Under Repeated Attack
This depot also acts as a distribution link between refineries, such as those operated by Lukoil, and end users. On June 16, the same facility was hit by a drone attack that sparked a fire, requiring 32 personnel and seven pieces of equipment to extinguish. At that time, the road between the stanitsa and the farmstead of Trudobelikovsky was temporarily closed. Another strike on June 6 targeted a company branch in Ust-Labinsk, engulfing an area of roughly 5,000 square meters.
Since the start of 2026, Krasnodar Krai has experienced over ten strikes on oil infrastructure, including four attacks on Tuapse, strikes on a depot in Novorossiysk, and hits on facilities in the Labinsk district. The situation in the region remains tense, as ongoing assaults on energy assets threaten to disrupt fuel supplies.
Attacks on oil depots in Krasnodar Krai highlight rising regional tensions, which could significantly impact fuel availability for both the domestic market and consumers in neighboring areas.
Strikes on oil infrastructure may lead to fuel shortages, potentially driving up prices and creating difficulties for drivers. Monitoring these developments is crucial for assessing the broader economic fallout across the region.
The recent drone strike on the Poltavskaya Oil Depot highlights the ongoing vulnerabilities of oil infrastructure in the region.
