From November 1, combatants can receive various types of state payments - from compensation upon dismissal to one-time assistance in case of disability.

Largest payment: up to 1.2 million UAH in case of disability

Assistance in case of disability

Military personnel who have become disabled during service are entitled to one-time state assistance. The amount depends on the disability group:
  • Group I – 400 subsistence minimums (1,211,200 UAH in 2025)
  • Group II – 300 subsistence minimums (908,400 UAH)
  • Group III – 250 subsistence minimums (757,000 UAH)

The calculation is based on the subsistence minimum for 2025, which is 3028 UAH.

Compensation after demobilization

The amount of payment upon dismissal depends on the status of the military personnel:

  • For mobilized individuals: According to the Cabinet of Ministers Resolution No. 460, 4% of the monthly cash allowance is paid for each full month of service, but no less than 25% of the salary.
  • For contract soldiers: The amount is tied to the military rank:
  • Private – 8 subsistence minimums (24,224 UAH)
  • Sergeant and warrant officer – 9 subsistence minimums (27,252 UAH)
  • Officer – 10 subsistence minimums (30,280 UAH)

Pension provision and monthly allowances

DBS have the right to early retirement with additional payments:

  • 25% of the subsistence minimum – a permanent pension supplement
  • 40 UAH – targeted living assistance
  • Address assistance – if the total pension amount is less than 5528 UAH

Annual payment for Independence Day

Every year until August 24, the state grants festive payments to DBS:

  • 1000 UAH – for combatants and injured participants of the Revolution of Dignity
  • 2700-3100 UAH – for military persons with disabilities due to the war
  • 3100 UAH – for individuals with special merits before Ukraine

Social package: what else does the state guarantee

In addition to financial payments, defenders receive a range of benefits:

  • Free medical services and medications
  • Discounts on housing and utility services
  • Preferential travel in public transport
  • Priority in employment after service completion

All payments and benefits are guaranteed by the state and do not require additional documentary grounds, apart from confirming the status of a combatant.

The state provides combatants with various types of state payments, compensations, and benefits to support these citizens. They are entitled to financial assistance in case of disability, compensation after demobilization, pension provision, and monthly allowances. Additionally, the state guarantees a social package that includes free medical services, discounts on housing and utility services, preferential transportation, and priority in employment. All these payments and benefits aim to improve the quality of life of defenders who have sacrificed their lives for the state.
