According to hvylya.net: A meeting of the Temporary Special Commission of the Verkhovna Rada took place in Volyn, which is dealing with the preparation of issues regarding the strengthening of social protection for citizens affected by the Chernobyl disaster. This was reported by the press service of the Office of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.

Bill on Lifetime Payments

One of the main topics discussed at the meeting was the legislative initiative on lifetime payments for those who lived in affected territories. According to MP Arseniy Pushkarenko, head of the Temporary Special Commission, this bill aims to secure state support for those who lived in contaminated areas as a result of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant disaster. It was noted that it is important to maintain state payments for those who already receive them after the moratorium on these lands is lifted.

The MP also noted that the bill provides support for people who worked, served, or studied in the relevant contaminated territories in certain regions of Ukraine.
