Arriving at the temple by helicopter and singing in the choir: what people say about Metropolitan Onufriy in his native village
In the village of Korytnoye in Bukovina, where the UOC MP Metropolitan Onufriy was born, the community was outraged by his deprivation of Ukrainian citizenship. Some locals believe this decision is unfair, while others consider it justified. There are two temples: one belongs to the UOC MP, the other to the OCU.
This is wrong. He is a kind, humble, decent person. He tried to help the Armed Forces of Ukraine. How could he live in Ukraine and have Russian citizenship? I think something is wrong here.
If a person does not hold a pro-Ukrainian position, does not support Ukraine, then this decision is correct. The metropolitan does not belong here if he does not like Ukraine.
In the house where the metropolitan was born, his relatives currently live, who avoid talking to journalists. Previously, Onufriy often visited the church in the neighboring village of Berezhonka, where his father served and was buried. After his death, believers of the OCU now pray in this church. The Security Service reported Onufriy's deprivation of Ukrainian citizenship by a decision of President Zelensky. The metropolitan himself claims that he has not applied to other countries for citizenship but holds an official Russian passport. In the end, several believing residents of Korytnoye expressed different opinions regarding this situation.
