The director of energy programs at the Razumkov Center, Volodymyr Omelchenko, assured that Kyiv will have enough resources for heating and lighting even in the most difficult conditions when the energy infrastructure is at risk due to possible Russian shelling.

'I believe that we will still manage on 9 nuclear blocks, on imports. We will manage on those heat points,' emphasized Omelchenko.

The expert also pointed to the existence of mini-boiler houses that could serve as an alternative in case of damage to large facilities. Moreover, the authorities are exploring the possibility of installing modular boilers and using electric heaters to provide heating for the city.

The importance of protection

Volodymyr Omelchenko urged residents of the capital to stay calm in the face of potential threats, but at the same time stressed the importance of protecting the city's energy facilities. He emphasized that strengthening air defense over key energy facilities in Kyiv is extremely important.

'At some minimum, we will get through the winter, there is no need to panic,' the expert emphasized.

In general, according to Omelchenko, the city has sufficient resources and capabilities to ensure heating even in the most difficult conditions thanks to a variety of energy sources and effective management of them.
