The Verkhovna Rada has increased payments to families of fallen heroes: what has changed
The Verkhovna Rada has adopted a law on increasing social protection for families of servicemen and citizens who have special merits before Ukraine. According to this law (No. 13164), the monthly monetary payment to the families of deceased individuals in this category has been significantly increased.
The main innovation of the document is the increase in the amount of payment. Previously, the assistance to the families of heroes was equal to one minimum wage, but now its amount has been raised to one and a half minimum wages.
The amount of the payment is determined based on the minimum salary for the current year. The law also regulates the distribution of funds in families with many children and provides for an equal share of payments for each family member of the deceased hero.
Those awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine, as well as with orders such as the 'Gold Star', the Order of Freedom, and others, are included in the category of individuals with special merits. The adopted law will help improve the payment system and provide decent support for the families of fallen heroes, which is an important step for the country.
