Andrushivka Rescue Operation

According to ДСНС: In the city of Andrushivka, located in the Berdychiv district of Zhytomyr region, a rescue team working alongside a veterinarian saved two beavers that had become trapped. The incident occurred between a sluice gate and a dam, where the animals were found at a depth of approximately 5 meters. Beavers are a protected species in Ukraine and are vital for maintaining healthy wetland ecosystems.

How the Beavers Were Saved

Rescuers employed a ladder and improvised tools to free the beavers from the trap. Once extracted, the animals were handed over to the veterinarian for examination. The exhausted beavers received the necessary medical assistance, a crucial step in safeguarding their health and ensuring their survival.

This event highlights the critical role of emergency services in protecting wildlife, which often falls victim to hazardous conditions in their natural habitats. The veterinary care provided was essential for the beavers' recovery, reflecting a broader societal commitment to preserving biodiversity in the region.

This recent rescue operation in the Zhytomyr region underscores the urgent need for wildlife protection, similar to the recent efforts in Kharkiv where over 900 endangered bats were saved from a hazardous situation.
