The Used Electric Car Market Hits a Record: Why Ukrainians Are Rushing to Buy
There is a high demand in the Ukrainian used electric car market. In October 2025 alone, 7,596 'freshly imported' electric cars were registered, setting a new record. Analysts note that the import of electric cars has exceeded the volume of domestic resales by two times, accounting for 57.3% of the entire used electric car market.
On the external market, Tesla leads with the Model Y, outperforming the Model 3. Meanwhile, in the domestic market, Ukrainians prefer the Nissan Leaf, which competes with the Volkswagen e-Golf.
The impressive demand in the market is explained by the impending return of VAT on the import of electric cars starting in 2026, which complicates logistics and limits the availability of cars from abroad. Therefore, those planning to take advantage of the benefit should hurry, as the most affordable options will be available as early as November-December.
