The number of border crossings has recently reached record levels, according to the data from the State Border Service. In the first week of August, more than 778 thousand people crossed the Ukrainian borders, which is a record since the start of the conflict with Russia.

Not only the number of people leaving but also those entering is growing. It is noted that weekends feature active movement across the border. Even at the border crossing points in Lviv region, passenger traffic increases by 40% compared to regular working days and by 16% on weekends.

According to representatives of the State Border Service in the Western region, the crossing points in Lviv region are overcrowded, especially on weekends. Thus, at the busiest point 'Ustyluh', a queue of 60 vehicles has formed.

The biggest delays at the Hungarian border were observed at the 'Luzhanka' crossing point with 30 vehicles in the queue. The Ukrainian-Hungarian border crossing points are popular among travelers, but queues cannot always be avoided.

More and more people are crossing the Ukrainian borders, both leaving and entering. The crossing points in Lviv region are particularly vulnerable to congestion, where the longest queues are observed during peak weekends. Reports from the busiest crossing points on the Ukrainian-Hungarian border indicate the need for improvements in the traffic management system.
