Russia introduces a complete ban on gasoline exports: prices hit record highs due to Ukrainian attacks

Gasoline prices in Russia
Вартість пального зростає до небачених висот на фоні нових обмежень з боку Росії та ескалації конфлікту в Україні.

In Russia, gasoline prices are constantly rising due to attacks on oil refineries. For example, the price of AI-95 gasoline rose by 1.08% on the St. Petersburg Commodity Exchange to 77,001 rubles per ton, setting a new historical record. One of the oil refineries of 'Rosneft' halted half of its capacities due to attacks by Ukrainian drones. This led to a shortage of oil products in the market and a monopoly on the market due to fears of external competition.

The rise in prices is linked to drone attacks on refineries on August 2. Primary processing units with a total capacity of about 40 thousand tons per day may have been damaged.

In addition, the Russian authorities have introduced a complete ban on gasoline exports until the end of August to maintain stability in the domestic fuel market during high demand. The Federal Antimonopoly Service is monitoring gasoline prices but claims that the situation in the oil products market is stable, although regional media report a constant increase in prices at gas stations.

Thus, attacks on oil refineries in Russia have led to a rise in gasoline prices, which may affect consumers in the country, prompting the authorities to take measures to stabilize the situation in the fuel market.
