Russia has deployed new mine-drones in Sumy region: what is known

In the territory of Okhtyrka district of Sumy region, the use of an improved model of the drone 'Geran-2' has been recorded, which has a mechanism for remote mining. This creates a dangerous situation at the site of application, as reported by 'Glavkom' with reference to the Okhtyrka City Council.

The modernized weapon was used last week in the area of the village of Pology. Specialists found that in addition to the primary combat unit, the drone is also equipped with a mechanism for laying mines. In this case, the drone was loaded with anti-tank mines.

It is reminded that Russian troops attacked Sumy. As a result of the strike, the roof of the perinatal center caught fire, reported the head of the President's Office Andriy Yermak and the mayor Artem Kobzar. At the moment of the attack, there were 11 children, 35 mothers, and 120 medical workers inside the center, who managed to hide in time.

It should be noted that this is not the first case of using 'italmas'. Russian troops have already used it in Kyiv region in 2023, along with 'shaheeds'. Meanwhile, according to widespread data, drones of the 'lancet' type are also produced by a Russian company.
