Russian swimmers will not go to the European short course swimming championship in Poland
According to glavcom.ua: Due to political circumstances, Russian athletes will not participate in the European short course swimming championship in Poland. The head of the Russian Swimming Federation, Dmitry Mazepin, stated: 'We will not go to Poland for political reasons, we will go to Paris.'

The European short course swimming championship will be held in Lublin from December 2 to 7, 2025. In addition, the European water sports championship will take place in Paris from July 31 to August 16, 2026.
'The Council of the International Ski Federation decided not to allow Russian and Belarusian athletes to Olympic qualifying competitions,' the FIS press service reported. The International Olympic Committee has granted a certain status for the participation of Russians and Belarusians in the qualifications, but each international federation decides this issue independently.
It has also become known that Russian skater Daniil Naidenishev has subscribed to the page of the Russian occupier Mikhail Lebedev on Instagram, who is participating in the war against Ukraine. This fact provoked outrage on social networks.
The participation of Russian athletes in international competitions continues to spark controversy and debate in the sports community, considering geopolitical conflicts and political decisions of sports organizations.
