Strike on Russian Oil Infrastructure

According to Главком: During the night of July 9, the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) carried out strikes on two facilities within Russia's oil infrastructure. The first target was the 'Krasnaya Zvezda' oil depot located in the Tver region, approximately 520 kilometers from Ukraine's state border. Ukrainian attack drones scored hits on the depot, sparking a fire at the site.

The second target was the 'Stavropolskaya' oil depot in Russia's Stavropol Krai, situated over 500 kilometers from Ukraine. A large-scale blaze erupted at this facility following the assault. According to the SBU, both depots handle the reception, storage, and distribution of gasoline and diesel fuel.

Strategic Strikes by Ukraine's Defense Forces

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported new successful strikes by the Defense Forces against strategic Russian oil infrastructure. The attacks targeted not only oil depots but also fuel storage sites, an oil pumping station, and an oil loading terminal across various Russian regions. Source: Glavcom, citing the SBU.

These strikes aim to degrade Russia's ability to sustain its military operations by hitting critical oil and gas infrastructure. By striking targets at such distances, Ukrainian forces demonstrate their capacity for long-range attacks, which could significantly disrupt enemy military logistics. This also underscores Ukraine's ongoing offensive efforts in the conflict and its determination to damage resources fueling the war effort.

These recent strikes align with President Zelenskyy's broader strategy to enhance Ukraine's offensive capabilities. As part of this effort, he has introduced a plan for long-range sanctions aimed at crippling Russia's oil supply chain. This comprehensive approach seeks to further disrupt enemy logistics and sustain pressure on Russian military operations.
