The counterintelligence of the Security Service of Ukraine prevented a new terrorist act in Odesa and detained a married couple of Odesa residents, recruited by the Russian special services through a Telegram channel with offers of "easy earnings." According to the investigation, the agents received coordinates of military facilities, monitored them, marked them on maps, and passed the information to their curator in Russia.

"To carry out the terrorist act, the suspects received coordinates from the Russian special services, according to which they found a cache and retrieved an improvised explosive device (IED)," the Security Service of Ukraine reported.

During searches of the detained individuals, smartphones with evidence of working for the enemy were seized.

The investigators of the Security Service of Ukraine informed both agents of their suspicion under Article 14, Part 2 of Article 258 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (preparation for a terrorist act)," the Security Service of Ukraine reported. Currently, the offenders are in custody, facing life imprisonment with asset confiscation. Comprehensive measures were carried out by the Security Service staff in Odesa region under the procedural guidance of the regional prosecutor's office.

It is recalled that the Security Service of Ukraine exposed the cunning plan of the Russian special services in Lviv, which tried to blow up Ukrainian military personnel under the guise of a "meeting."
