The popularity of Dublin among tourists surged by 551% after the release of the Netflix series 'House of Guinness', which tells the true story of the Irish family behind the world-famous brewery. The series premiered in September and quickly topped the Top 10 most viewed programs in the UK, drawing attention to iconic locations such as the St. James' Gate Brewery.
The series showcases many landmark attractions, including the St. James' Gate and the Guinness Storehouse. Now the city expects a huge influx of travelers to come to the Irish capital to visit them and get acquainted with the city. Against the backdrop of this popularity surge, Dublin has also been named the most popular international destination for Britons traveling abroad in the first six months of the year.
However, new research has shown that Dublin is the fifth most difficult city in the world for driving.
Experts from Nationwide Vehicle Contracts warn visitors about this critical factor – traffic and navigation. The city ranks tenth on TomTom's list of the most congested cities in the world with a traffic congestion rate of 47%.
