First Digital Tourist Ticket Launched in Ukraine’s Carpathian Mountains
Digital Entry System Debuts at Carpathian National Nature Park
According to УНІАН — Туризм: Ukraine’s first electronic visitor ticket is now operational at the Carpathian National Nature Park. The pilot project began on the hiking route leading to Mount Khomyak and was introduced just before Ukraine’s Nature Reserve Workers’ Day. Developed at the request of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine, the digital system received financial and technical backing from the Frankfurt Zoological Society in Ukraine (FZS Ukraine).
Project initiator Oleksandr Krasnolutskyi commented:
“The digital ticket ensures transparent visitor tracking, helps optimize recreational load planning, and opens up new opportunities for the development of protected areas.”
Beyond improving visitor monitoring, the new system enhances the overall experience for tourists, making the ascent of Mount Khomyak more comfortable and modern. Stepan Hoshovskyi added:
“Digitalization allows us to protect nature while staying open and accessible to people.”
Future Expansion of the Digital Platform
Plans are in place to gradually integrate other protected areas across Ukraine into a unified electronic system. The platform’s functionality is expected to grow over time, with new services being added to benefit travelers. These upgrades could significantly raise service standards and improve visitor comfort when exploring natural landscapes.
The introduction of digital ticketing at the Carpathian National Nature Park marks a major step toward modernizing Ukraine’s tourist tracking infrastructure. It not only simplifies the entry process but also supports better management of recreational resources and the preservation of natural sites. Bringing additional conservation areas into this system could lay the groundwork for a single national tourism platform, boosting Ukraine’s appeal as a travel destination.
