Seismic Events in the Pacific Ocean
Recall that another earthquake with a magnitude of over 5.0 occurred in the Pacific Ocean near the Northern Kurils of the Sakhalin region. This is the third seismic event in recent days. A 5.1 magnitude earthquake was recorded 127 km east of the city of Severo-Kurilsk on Paramu-shir Island.
The residents of Paramu-shir Island felt tremors with a force of two to three points. There was no tsunami threat. Recently, there was a volcanic eruption in Kamchatka, which posed an aviation hazard due to the ash cloud.
The earthquake events in the Caspian Sea and the seismic events in the Pacific Ocean give reason to be cautious about natural disasters in these regions. Despite the palpable tremors, no destruction or casualties have been recorded at this time, but local authorities and rescue services continue to monitor the situation and prepare for potential consequences of seismic events.
