The First Snow in November: When to Expect Significant Precipitation in Ukraine
Ukraine is preparing for the first snows at the end of November, when, according to meteorologists' forecasts, significant snowfall is expected. Despite this, the snow cover is likely to be short-lived due to high positive temperatures.
According to meteorologist Vazyra Martazynova, the beginning of winter will be accompanied by snow, but significant snowdrifts are not anticipated in December.
Moreover, rainy weather is expected after November 5. At the beginning of the month, warm and dry weather is predicted, with no significant precipitation, but there may be fog at night and in the morning.
Temperature and Precipitation
According to the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center, the average temperature in November 2025 will be +1...+8 °C, which is 1-2 degrees above normal. In the eastern regions, the temperature will be in line with the average values. Precipitation is forecasted to range from 34 to 77 mm, and in the Carpathians, it may reach up to 100 mm, which will constitute 80-100% of the average norm.
Forecasts indicate that in the last days of November, the first snow can be expected in Ukraine, but due to warm weather, the snow cover will not last long. It is also emphasized that rainy weather is expected after November 5, although warm and dry weather is anticipated at the beginning of the month.
