The US Department of Homeland Security introduces a new immigration fee
According to USCIS, starting October 16, 2025, a payment of 1000 dollars will be required by American immigration services for individuals who have received a humanitarian permission to stay in the USA, known as parole.
This innovation is related to the adoption of law H.R. 1, which seeks new funding sources through various fees, including immigration fees.
Parole allows individuals to enter or remain in the USA temporarily without a full visa or green card, primarily for those arriving under humanitarian programs, needing temporary protection, or awaiting decisions regarding other immigration statuses.

New fee for participants of the 'Uniting for Ukraine' program
Ukrainians who arrived in the USA under the 'Uniting for Ukraine' program also fall under this fee. Although there are exceptions, information about which will be released later.
The fee amount is 1000 dollars for 2025 and annual adjustments are planned based on inflation. Thus, whether Ukrainians participating in this program will need to pay this fee remains unknown at this time.
