Shooting and Arson Near the Serbian Parliament: 70-Year-Old Suspect Arrested
In Belgrade, an incident involving shooting and arson occurred today in front of the National Assembly of Serbia. The police arrested a 70-year-old man, Vladan A., who is suspected of injuring an innocent person and setting fire to a protest tent. This was reported by 'Glavkom' citing Kurir.
According to the publication, the suspect, who was allegedly one of the participants in the blockade, first shot at 57-year-old Milan B., and then set one of the tents on fire by throwing a handful of bullets into the flames. The victim sustained a gunshot wound to the thigh. Preliminary reports indicate that his life is not in danger.
The prosecutor of the Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in Belgrade has arrived at the scene. The area in front of the parliament is cordoned off with police tape, and services are working to extinguish the fire.
Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić is scheduled to make an unscheduled public address regarding this attack. It is worth noting that President Vučić has spoken about a new war. According to him, everyone is currently preparing for conflicts. During a conversation with journalists, Vučić stated that everyone is now preparing for war, and the only question is 'which side everyone belongs to.'
