New regulations on housing subsidies in Ukraine

In Ukraine, the accrual of housing subsidies for citizens who are outside the country for more than 60 days is terminated. This new regulation applies to all subsidy recipients who cannot maintain their presence in the country.

A recipient of a housing subsidy is required to inform the Pension Fund of Ukraine within 30 days about the departure of a household member abroad. This information is critically important for further obtaining housing benefits. If a family member registered in the household of the subsidy recipient has gone abroad and received temporary protection, the Pension Fund of Ukraine must also be notified.

The importance of timely information

If it is discovered that a household member is abroad, the payment of housing subsidies will be suspended. It is important to note that the fact of being abroad may be detected during the verification of payments by the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine. Therefore, it is vital for citizens to be aware of these conditions to avoid potential financial losses.

This new regulation may affect a significant number of Ukrainians who have left abroad due to military actions or other circumstances. The cancellation of subsidies for those who cannot return highlights the need for timely notification to government bodies regarding changes in household status, which in turn may lead to financial difficulties for many families. In this regard, it is important for Ukrainians abroad to pay attention to the new rules and adhere to the established deadlines for reporting departures.
