Court Freezes £2.5 Million in Mudryk’s Assets Over Contract Breach
Mykhailo Mudryk’s Legal and Doping Troubles
According to Главком: A London court has ordered the seizure of assets worth £2.5 million belonging to Chelsea and Ukraine winger Mykhailo Mudryk, following allegations that he violated a contract with JJDS Management Limited. In addition to this legal action, Mudryk has been handed a four-year ban from football after testing positive for a banned substance.
Mudryk signed an agreement with JJDS Management Limited in 2023, under which he was required to pay 30% of all commercial and sponsorship income. The company is now seeking roughly £6 million in total claims. Founder Femis Sagirov explained: 'We are claiming about six million. This sum comes from two separate proceedings: a case in Cyprus for €2.4 million in lost profits, and a claim in England for $2.8 million (around £2.1 million).'

The High Court of London has issued a freezing order covering Mudryk’s real estate, vehicles, and bank accounts. It has also restricted his spending to no more than £5,000 per week. Sagirov added: 'He is also required to provide documented explanations for the sources of his income.' The defendants in the case also include agent Vadym Shabliy, his company ProStar, and Chelsea FC. The court is expected to consider freezing Shabliy’s assets as well, with Sagirov stating that 'he was the individual who directly influenced the breakdown of our agreements with the player.'
Mudryk’s Four-Year Ban
Separately, Mudryk has been banned from football for four years after testing positive for meldonium, a prohibited substance, as confirmed by the Football Association. On February 26, he appealed the ruling at the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in Lausanne. The winger joined Chelsea in January 2023 for €70 million, making 73 appearances across all competitions, scoring 10 goals and providing 11 assists. His last professional match was played on November 28, 2024.
Mudryk’s situation highlights the critical importance of honoring contractual obligations in professional sports, as well as the severe consequences of anti-doping violations. The asset freeze and suspension could significantly impact his career and financial standing, raising concerns among fans and sports analysts. The outcomes of the ongoing court hearings and his doping appeal will likely determine his future in football.
