The priest of the OCU created an app for preparing for confession: how it works
The priest of the OCU created a mobile app for preparing for confession
Father Andriy Novosad, a priest of the OCU, developed a mobile app that will help prepare for confession. In the app 'My Confession', users can record their sins so as not to forget them. This is reported by 'Spiritual Greatness of Lviv', transmitted by 'Hlavcom'.
App functionality
The app is only available on Android. In it, users can:
- familiarize themselves in detail with the sacrament of penance - confession;
- learn more about the sacrament of Eucharist - Holy Communion;
- go through a step-by-step preparation for confession and communion;
- view a list of sins that will help during the confession itself;
- write down their own thoughts or notes before confession;
- read prayers before the Holy Sacraments.
App founder
The developer of the app is Father Andriy Novosad, who serves in the village of Lozy of the Vysnivetske deanery of the Ternopil diocese of the OCU. He explained that the idea of creating an app about confession was born out of his own experience.
Whenever I prepare for Holy Confession and Divine Liturgy, I read a lot of prayer texts. They are not collected in one place, so I have to take many books - prayer books, service books, typicons, etc.
Thus, the idea of collecting and organizing the texts according to the Statute arose, so that it would be more convenient for a person to prepare for confession and Holy Communion. The head of the Ternopil diocese, Metropolitan Nestor (Pyzyk), blessed the priest to create the app.
Interestingly, two Brazilian nuns made waves on the Internet after spontaneously performing beatboxing and a dance program on a Catholic television channel.
The appearance of a mobile app for preparing for confession by a priest of the OCU indicates a demand for modern technologies in the spiritual sphere and a desire to simplify the preparation of the faithful for church sacraments. The developed app will allow people to conveniently organize their thoughts and prepare for confession and communion, which may contribute to their spiritual growth.
