Heat Supply Restored in Desnianskyi District

According to Главком: Following extensive emergency repairs, heating has been restored to the majority of residential buildings in Kyiv's Desnianskyi District. This follows a significant disruption that left many residents without central heating during the winter. Deputy Head of the Kyiv City State Administration, Petro Panteleiev, announced the progress on Tuesday, February 10th.

Work is being carried out by additional crews, including specialists from Ukrzaliznytsia (Ukrainian Railways). Currently, 840 workers across 176 teams are involved in the restoration efforts, with 83 of these teams (345 personnel) brought in from other regions, Kyiv enterprises, and Ukrzaliznytsia. The restoration of heating in the Troieshchyna area was also confirmed on February 9th by First Deputy Minister for Communities and Territories Development, Alona Shkrum.

Ongoing Issues in Specific Buildings

Petro Panteleiev noted that despite the resumption of the heat supply, some buildings still have technical issues resulting from damage caused by the prolonged lack of heating.

"Buildings in the Desnianskyi District at specific addresses remain under our control. According to our information, the four most challenging buildings are still being worked on," he emphasized.

Alona Shkrum added that the progress is the result of round-the-clock work by emergency crews.

The restoration of heat is a critical relief for residents who endured a prolonged period of cold. The coordinated effort, which involved mobilizing specialists from national infrastructure like the railways, demonstrates a multi-level response to the crisis. However, the ongoing repairs in several buildings highlight the need for continued monitoring and rapid response to any further technical failures.
