Gas Transit Suspension: Which Regions Will Be at Risk This Winter

According to hvylya.net: As the heating season approaches, Ukrainians will face serious challenges regarding energy security. Currently, the complete suspension of gas transit has joined the list of problems against the backdrop of the threat of Russian missile attacks on infrastructure.

According to expert Oleg Popenko, the coming winter may be tougher than previous ones, with issues not only related to electricity supply but also to heating supply. He notes that in the event of a gas shortage, the southern regions of the state will be the first to suffer.

'The temperature in apartment buildings will be lower than usual. If on average it is 18-20 degrees... then it will be 14-16 degrees. If the gas situation gets very bad, the temperature will be even lower,' the expert noted.

Given the possible attacks on infrastructure and increased gas consumption due to the cold, Ukrainians may have to face a deficit of heat in their homes next winter.
