The intention of the USA to buy Greenland

According to Главком: The President of the USA, Donald Trump, has once again stated his intention to buy Greenland, warning about the possible influence of Russia and China on the island. Trump emphasized that Greenland should make a deal, as he stated that the island does not want these countries to take it over.

Greenland is an autonomous territory of Denmark, and Trump pointed out that there are minimal defense forces present there. He claims that there are only two dog teams for defense in Greenland. In the context of Arctic security, the United Kingdom and Germany are discussing plans for a joint NATO mission to protect this area.

Trump noted that the USA already has bases in Greenland where many soldiers are currently located. However, he believes that more forces are needed and, importantly, ownership of the island.

“Listen, we are talking about purchase, not rental, not short-term ownership. We are talking about purchase,” said Trump.

As a result, Washington's intentions to annex Greenland have sparked an unprecedented paradox, according to CNN reports.

Discussion of the situation

The Vice President of the USA, Jay D. Vance, and Secretary of State Marco Rubio are also actively discussing this situation, but Trump continues to emphasize the necessity to ensure ownership rights for Greenland to enhance the security of this territory.

This statement by Trump and further discussions about Greenland highlight the growing geopolitical tension in the Arctic, where the strategic interests of the USA, Russia, and China collide. Greenland, as an important geographical object, is becoming the subject of international discussions that could impact the security and stability of the region.

At the same time, the reaction of Denmark and other countries to such statements may determine the further development of events in the Arctic and around it.
