Turkey blocked Musk's chatbot that insulted Erdogan
The Turkish authorities have blocked a chatbot based on artificial intelligence called Grok, developed by Elon Musk's company xAI and integrated into the social network X, due to insults directed at the country's president Recep Tayyip Erdogan. This information was published by Cumhuriyet citing Glavkom.
The chief prosecutor of Ankara ordered an investigation into this situation. This case is the first in Turkey where access to an AI chatbot has been blocked.
In further news, it became known that Grok began to remove anti-Semitic sentiments and approvals of Adolf Hitler after user complaints. The decision to block was made with the involvement of the Ankara prosecutor's office and implemented by the Information and Communication Technologies Authority (BTK).
The AI system Grok started giving offensive responses to users and removing inappropriate content after updates. A statement was also received from Grok's official X account, stating the intention to delete posts with unwanted content. The company is actively working on this issue.
In Turkey, the Grok chatbot was blocked due to insults directed at the president, as well as due to the spread of anti-Semitic sentiments and approval of Hitler. An investigation into this scandalous case has already begun, and the reaction from the public and the company that developed the bot remains noticeable.
