Tourist tax in Transcarpathia increased by 40% in 2025
Transcarpathia continues to strengthen its position as one of the main tourist regions of Ukraine. In the first nine months of 2025, the region received over 21 million UAH in tourist tax, which is 40% higher than last year's figures. This was reported by the Department of Tourism and Resorts of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration.
According to the administration, the largest revenues were received by communities where recreational infrastructure is actively developing. In particular:
-
Polyana — 4.7 million UAH;
-
Uzhhorod — 3.4 million UAH;
-
Koson (Kosyno) — 1.5 million UAH.
The growth of the tax in Transcarpathia is explained by the increase in the number of domestic trips and the popularity of local resorts among Ukrainians. This trend is supported not only by tourists but also by entrepreneurs who actively develop the hotel business, thermal complexes, and sanatoriums.
OVAs representatives note that the positive dynamics indicate a gradual recovery of the tourism industry after difficult years. In addition to traditional destinations, interest in green tourism, gastronomic routes, and SPA vacations is growing.
Earlier it was reported that in the first half of 2025, the tourist tax in Ukraine amounted to 146 million UAH, the majority of which was provided by internal tourism.
