According to Прокуратура Київ: A 34-year-old resident of the Kyiv region has been arrested on suspicion of influence peddling. He allegedly offered to help an acquaintance secure a job at a defense industry enterprise for $1,700, with the aim of obtaining a military exemption and avoiding conscription. The suspect was taken into custody at the moment he received the payment.
Law Enforcement Action
The Podil District Prosecutor's Office in Kyiv is overseeing the case. The suspect has been formally charged under Article 28, Part 2, and Article 369-2, Part 3 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which carries a penalty of three to eight years in prison along with asset confiscation. Multiple meetings between the suspect and the victim point to a systematic pattern of behavior.
