According to the draft, employers will automatically pay a penalty for delayed salary payments.
Fines for major violations of labor law are also set to double to 60,000 zlotys.
What punishments are being prepared for 'in envelope' salaries
The harshest penalties will apply to payments made 'in envelopes'. For such violations, the fine may reach 90,000 zlotys.
Separately, Poland intends to penalize employers for failing to pay salaries for at least three months. In this case, they may face not only a fine of up to 60,000 zlotys but also imprisonment.
The new rules also foresee stricter penalties for violations of labor protection and safety regulations.
The Polish government states that these changes are aimed at improving the situation for workers, who previously often struggled to effectively protect their rights.
