According to Главком: A 36-year-old man has been taken into custody in Poland on suspicion of murdering Russian performance artist Semyon Skrepetsky. The killing occurred on June 15 in the town of Biała Podlaska. The suspect was found carrying a Georgian passport, and investigators are now working to identify who may have ordered the crime.

The arrest was carried out by police officers from the Lublin Voivodeship, working together with Poland’s Internal Security Agency. According to authorities, the attacker tried to evade capture by using documents from another country. During the operation, law enforcement discovered the Georgian passport in his possession.

Details of the Murder and Its Aftermath

Semyon Skrepetsky, whose real name was Robert Kuzovkov, was born in 1981. He emigrated from Russia in 2021. On the morning of June 15, the 44-year-old Russian citizen was shot multiple times on a street in Biała Podlaska. The assailant fired several rounds at the victim, then finished him off with additional shots as he lay on the ground.

Earlier, two Belarusian nationals were detained near the Belarusian consulate in Biała Podlaska, but investigators found no evidence linking them to the murder, and they were released after questioning.

“He has a Georgian passport. The security services are working to identify who ordered this,” Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk commented on the situation.

Law enforcement officials are continuing their investigation to uncover all the circumstances surrounding this tragedy.

This case highlights not only the crime itself but also the broader security challenges in the region, particularly amid rising tensions between Ukraine, Russia, and their neighbors. Skrepetsky, known for his protest performances, may have been targeted for reasons tied to these geopolitical strains. The ongoing probe could have implications for regional stability and cross-border relations.

The ongoing investigation into the murder of Semyon Skrepetsky has revealed a complex web of connections and potential motives. In a related case, three individuals were recently apprehended in Poland in connection with the killing of another Russian artist, highlighting the escalating violence against cultural figures in the region. Authorities are keen to uncover any links between these incidents as the situation continues to unfold.
