Ukraine begins integration into the EU Common Agricultural Policy: what does it mean

Ukraine is strengthening cooperation with the European Parliament in the field of integration into the EU Common Agricultural Policy. A round table was held in Brussels with the participation of Members of the European Parliament, representatives of the European Commission, and Ukrainian business.

The discussed topics included the following steps:

• Strengthening institutional cooperation between Ukraine and the European Commission;
• Gradual integration of Ukraine into CAP;
• Adaptation of standards regarding plant protection products;
• Dialogue at the level of DG AGRI and DG SANTE.

Deputy Minister Taras Vysotsky emphasized the readiness of Ukrainian farmers to meet European standards.

Representatives of the European Parliament confirmed their desire to build a sustainable and competitive European food system, including Ukraine in CAP. Our country remains an important player in the global market: its annual agricultural export was about $23.4 billion on average in recent years.

Ukraine continues to actively engage in the process of integration into European agricultural markets, adapting to European standards and communicating with key players in the field.
