Support from the European Investment Bank
EIB has already provided Ukraine with over 168 million euros for these programs, most of which are intended for updating urban transport. Financing is carried out through the European Union Ukraine Facility initiative with the guarantees of the European Commission.
The Deputy Minister of Finance Olga Zykova expressed hope for further cooperation and the expansion of the use of EU guarantee mechanisms to implement more restoration projects.
Development of Ukraine's infrastructure
In addition to transport, EIB also finances the reconstruction of roads, railways, energy facilities, medical institutions, and social infrastructure. The bank's loan portfolio in Ukraine consists of 27 projects totaling 4.7 billion euros.
