According to ХВИЛЯ: The Ukrainian air defense system has received two Patriot air defense systems from the German government to protect cities and critical infrastructure facilities. These systems, equipped with PAC-3 MSE version missiles, are capable of destroying targets by 'direct hit', making them extremely effective in modern combat conditions.

Technical characteristics of Patriot systems

The range of the Patriot system reaches 160 km, while the engagement altitude is up to 24 km. This allows it to hit a variety of aerial targets, including Russian missiles:

• Zircon
• Kinzhal

It is worth noting that the speed of the 'Zircon' missile can reach 11,000 km/h, while the speed of the 'Kinzhal' can reach 16,000 km/h. Thus, Patriot systems can effectively counter threats posed by hypersonic missiles.

One Patriot battery has the capability to simultaneously track up to 100 targets and engage 8 of them. This ensures high operational readiness and effectiveness during combat operations. The system employs technologies that allow it to adapt to the speed and maneuverability of modern threats, enhancing its ability to destroy targets at higher speeds.

Thanks to these new capabilities, Ukraine will be able to strengthen its air defense, which is especially important in light of modern challenges. The presence of the Patriot system opens new horizons for protecting civilians and the country's critical infrastructure.
