Ukraine in the top 5 suppliers of organic products to the EU: what are the goals for the future
According to hvylya.net: Currently, there are 260 certified operators in Ukraine that meet the requirements of national organic legislation and 436 that meet the legislation of the EU and/or the USA. 'Despite all the challenges of today, participants in the organic sector continue to work diligently, and this yields results. For example, there are already two certification bodies operating in Ukraine, which confirms the growing demand and interest from producers. Approximately 350,000 hectares of agricultural land have organic status. This is about 1.2% of the total area of agricultural land in Ukraine. Our goals are ambitious - first to reach 5%, and then 25%, as planned in the EU countries,' emphasized Taras Vysotskyi.
Ukraine has consistently been among the top 5 suppliers of organic products to the European Union for many years. This was stated by Taras Vysotskyi, the Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, during the annual conference 'Organic Day in Ukraine.'
Ukraine continues to stand out as one of the main suppliers of organic products to the EU, indicating a steady increase in the production volumes of organic products in the country. The measures being taken to support the organic sector contribute to achieving ambitious goals in this field.
