The government has approved a list of countries for dual citizenship: who will receive a passport

According to hvylya.net: The government has approved new rules for obtaining a Ukrainian passport for citizens of five countries. Now citizens of the USA, Canada, Germany, Poland, and the Czech Republic can more easily obtain Ukrainian citizenship. This initiative aims to strengthen ties with the diaspora and increase the population of the country.

The process of obtaining a passport for citizens of the specified states has been simplified. They only need to submit a declaration of recognition as a citizen of Ukraine. The other conditions remain unchanged, including five years of residence in Ukraine and passing examinations.

Expansion of the list of countries

Currently, the list of countries whose citizens can obtain a Ukrainian passport is limited to five states. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs explained that these countries are strategic partners and provide support to Ukraine. However, in the future, the list may be expanded depending on further analyses and proposals.

The government is simplifying the procedure for obtaining a Ukrainian passport for citizens of five countries and hopes for a positive impact of this step on both the diaspora and the development of the country as a whole. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is considering the possibility of further expanding the list of countries that can benefit from this initiative.
