According to hvylya.net:
On the air with Yuriy Romanenko, expert in the communal sphere Oleg Popenko warned about the dangers concealed in the household law adopted back in 2022. According to Popenko, this law could lead to two-thirds of Ukraine's population being deprived of housing. He emphasized that the purpose of this law is to simplify the procedure for confiscating property from debtors for utility services.
According to the expert, the new household law establishes collective responsibility, which can lead to the confiscation of property even from those who bear only part of the joint debts. This is particularly true for people with unregulated relationships with relatives, who may become victims of this legislative initiative.
Popenko also warned of additional risks for entrepreneurs, who can now be held accountable as households for violating legislation. The new law simplifies the procedure for confiscating housing, which may result in widespread cases of people being deprived of their only property. The expert warned that such legislative actions could lead to catastrophic consequences for Ukrainian society.
According to expert Oleg Popenko, the adopted household law could cause serious problems for two-thirds of Ukraine's population, depriving them of housing through a simplified procedure for confiscating property from utility debtors. Moreover, the law establishes collective responsibility, creating a threat to all co-owners of property, and adds risks for entrepreneurs who may be held accountable as households.
