According to hvylya.net: It is time to prepare for winter without electricity! October has brought mass power outages in Chernihiv, Kyiv, and other regions of Ukraine.
To help Ukrainians prepare for blackouts and make their stay more comfortable, experts have compiled a list of recommendations.
Key steps before batteries run out:
- Water supply: 3 liters for drinking per day per person, as well as technical water for hygiene and cooking.
- Non-perishable food: cereals, canned goods, nuts, dried fruits, chocolate, and products that can be consumed without cooking.
- A first aid kit with medications and copies of documents.
- Cash for 7-14 days in different denominations.
- Lighting and charging: flashlights, candles, portable chargers, and battery-operated radios.
- Warmth in the house: checking windows, additional insulation, insulating doors, and sealing cold spots.
- Heat sources: heaters, generators, and the presence of a fire extinguisher and carbon monoxide detector.
- Cooking without electricity: gas stove, burner, solid fuel, and thermoses.
- Communication during outages: offline messengers, national roaming, and satellite internet.
Being ready for power outages is a wise measure that will allow you to cope with unforeseen situations.
