Ukrainians detained in Poland with fake stamps in passports
Ukrainians used fake stamps at Polish borders. At border crossings in Korczowa and Medyka, two citizens of Ukraine with fake stamps in their passports were discovered. The incidents occurred over the course of several days.
On September 28, a 29-year-old Ukrainian was found to have eight fake stamps from the Polish border control in her passport. The woman was fined and her passport was confiscated. At the Medyka crossing, a 30-year-old Ukrainian was also found with fake stamps in his passport and was sent back to his homeland.
The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine advises Ukrainians to expect more time at the border with Poland due to a new recording system. This system includes biometric data collection, which may slow down the processing time. Poland has already begun testing this system ahead of its planned implementation by the European Union.
Ukrainians attempted to use fake stamps at Polish borders, but their plans were thwarted by the discovery of the fakes in their passports. Such actions are violations of the law and can lead to serious consequences, including fines and confiscation of documents. To avoid similar situations, the State Border Guard Service advises Ukrainians to be cautious and to allow extra time at the border with Poland.
